In addition, Ward agrees that giving out “freebies” is an ideal way to promote your company. Of course, people love to receive things for free. One way to distribute these items is to offer them as “rewards” to your customers. These help to make your client base feel appreciated and satisfied as customers.
Ward describes an occasion where she was the beneficiary of such a gift. “I recently had a picture framed,” she writes, “the framer had attached a free picture hanger to the painting's wire, with a small card thanking me for my patronage. It's only a small thing, which certainly didn't cost him much, but as the customer, I appreciate not having to rummage through my home looking for a suitable hanger, and can't help thinking positively about the service he provides.”
Business owners should consider the small and inexpensive things that they could give out with their products or services that would have each and every one of their customers feeling positively about their companies. Combining your product or service with a free item to let your customer know that you are willing to go that extra step for him or her puts you in a “win-win situation”.
