Good To Great Business

Right now I am currently reading the book “Good To Great” by Jim Collins and I would certainly recommend it to any business owner, CEO, or entrepreneur who is committed to taking their business to the next level. Essentially the book is a case study of the extended success of large businesses in comparison to other businesses in the same market. Each company saw a transition period, followed by 15 years of solid returns.

Collins and his colleagues found many answers to why businesses become great, but one focus was having the right people on board. Not only on board, however, but also in the right spots. The problem that many companies faced was not a dry market, not a lack of vision or strategy, but the just the wrong kind of people executing these plans. To make a company great, this was a key component.

I’m telling you, if you have the time this is a must read. In terms of taking your business to the next level, it’s a basic outline of what steps you might want to consider in doing so. If you want to raise your bottom-line, consider the people you surround yourself with and the roles they have, regardless of age, experience, or popularity.
